| Following ratification from the Leinster Branch, Swords Rugby Club has been born. After hard work from the club commitee and a unanimous vote at the 2005 AGM. The club formerly known as Aer Lingus and more recently as ALSAA will now be known as Swords RFC. |
| The main reason for the name change is to build a firm bridge between the club's nursery sides – the Swords Colts – and the senior club. It is also another effort to tap into the vast hinterland that is Swords itself. ALSAA have already established links with several of the schools in the town through the work of their Youth Development Officer and will continue to do so as the Swords Project grows. |
To coincide with the club name change a new club website has been launched www.swordsrfc.com. If you are not automatically redirtected there within 10 seconds please click on the link above. |
